Senior Mechanical Engineer (Hybrid)
Job description:
Our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in London, Kingston, or Kitchener, Ontario. As a technical leader, you will oversee mechanical projects, provide design strategies, and mentor junior engineers. Key responsibilities include:
– Reviewing and stamping mechanical projects of varying complexities
– Leading design strategies and concept development
– Providing technical leadership and mentoring to intermediate and junior engineers
– Conducting audits, feasibility assessments, and investigations
– Developing mechanical design standards and practices
– Troubleshooting construction issues
– Collaborating with clients, contractors, and other engineering disciplines
– Conducting site visits and construction phase services
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
– 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in building services
– Engineering license in Ontario with at least 5 years of Canadian experience
– Design experience with central plant systems (hot water, steam, chilled water)
– Knowledge of DDC control systems and sequencing
– Familiarity with OBC, ASHRAE, CSA, and ASPE standards
– Experience in multiple industries (commercial, industrial, educational, healthcare, etc.)
– Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
– Ability to multitask and work under deadlines
