Due to continued growth in the South Island, an opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their Christchurch team.

About the role

This position offers the opportunity to play a key role within a close-knit structural team delivering a diverse range of commercial and industrial projects across the region.

Youll lead projects from concept through to delivery, manage client relationships, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the ongoing growth of the Christchurch office. The role provides a high level of autonomy while still being supported by an experienced and collaborative wider team.

Key responsibilities

* Lead structural design and project delivery across commercial and industrial developments
* Manage project programmes, budgets, and client expectations
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
* Mentor and support junior engineers
* Work collaboratively with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
* Deliver practical, high-quality engineering solutions

About you

* 6+ years structural engineering experience within New Zealand
* CPEng status in New Zealand is essential
* Strong technical capability in steel and concrete design
* Experience leading projects and managing client relationships
* Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
* Positive, team-focused attitude with a collaborative approach
