About the Role
Our client is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support production operations, improve processes, and ensure safe, efficient manufacturing of assemblies and end products. This role will play a key part in fixture design, process optimization, ergonomics, and safety compliance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for the design and manufacturing of fixtures, machines, and tools
- Conduct time studies and evaluate equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes
- Improve ergonomics, mistake-proofing, and overall ease of assembly
- Partner with EHS to ensure compliance with OSHA and safety standards
- Assist with Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) and risk mitigation
- Investigate accidents and support implementation of corrective actions
- Conduct plant safety audits and recommend process improvements
- Review new equipment and machinery for safety and compliance standards
- Monitor environmental conditions (noise, dust, fumes, etc.) and ensure safe exposure levels
- Support ISO 14001 and quality/environmental management systems
- Collaborate with Quality to ensure proper in-process inspection methods
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in automotive or assembly environments
- Knowledge of ergonomics, safety standards, and OSHA regulations
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and standard computer applications (Excel, Word, databases)
- Experience with FMEA, process improvement, and time studies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with production, quality, and safety teams
