FINANCE ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY (Mid-Level)

An international AmLaw 50 firm is seeking a talented mid-level Associate Attorney to join its leading Finance Practice Group in New York

This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious attorney to work on sophisticated, fast-paced financing transactions alongside a highly collaborative and intellectually rigorous team. The practice advises banks, private credit funds, and other institutional lenders on complex domestic and cross-border financings across a wide range of industries and deal structures.

 


 

Candidate Profile

  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
  • Active Bar Admission in the New York, in good standing, or are eligible to waive in. 
  • 3-5 years of substantive experience in financial services transactions, preferably involving complex financing related matters.
  • Experience advising banks, private credit funds, and other institutional lenders in sponsored and non-sponsored secured loan transactions.
  • Strong background in leveraged lending, commercial lending, and/or private credit finance.
  • Experience with senior secured, mezzanine, and subordinated debt transactions, including acquisition finance, structured finance, and loan workouts or restructurings
  • Familiarity with asset-backed finance, warehouse financing, and royalties financing is a plus, though not required
  • Proven ability to manage key components of financing transactions, including structuring, documentation, and closing
  • Experience collaborating with tax, regulatory, intellectual property, and corporate (M&A) teams on complex financings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly and concisely
  • Demonstrated initiative, strong work ethic, and a proactive approach to taking on increased responsibility
  • Large law firm experience strongly preferred
  • Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
     

 


 

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent innovative banks, private credit funds, and other institutional lenders in domestic and cross-border financing transactions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate credit agreements, security documents, intercreditor agreements, and related transaction documents.
  • Advise clients on leveraged finance, acquisition finance, and other secured lending transactions
  • Manage transaction workflows from structuring through execution and closing
  • Collaborate closely with attorneys across multiple practice areas to deliver integrated, client-focused solutions
  • Support ongoing client relationships through responsive, practical, and business-oriented legal advice

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Salary: $250,000 – $365,000, commensurate with experience and class year.
